On Page SEO
On Page SEO> It is said that “Content is the King” is very important. SEO optimized articles have to be written to rank the website or post in the search engine. How to write your article to rank in google search is on page seo. Basically for SEO On-page-SEO is given more importance. Today we will learn about its details and professional on page SEO techniques.
What is On Page SEO?
Before talking about what is On Page SEO, it is necessary to know what SEO is. The optimization work to rank the website or post in the search engine is called SEO (Search Engine Optimization). On the other hand, the SEO that is done inside the website is On-Page-SEO. Now the question may come again inside the website? Explaining.
I am now writing about On Page SEO. To get my post ranked in search engines, from writing the post to publishing, all the SEO techniques I have applied are called On Page SEO. Later I will share my post on various social networks (eg: Facebook, Twitter), guest post and get backlinks, this is Off-Page-SEO.
Why On Page SEO is Important
There is an equation, more traffic = more income. That means the higher the traffic on the website, the higher the income. The main target of us bloggers is to get organic traffic and earn from blogging. The Google search algorithm does not work the way it used to. Just type the keyword inside the post. But day by day Google search algorithm is getting smarter. Keywords are no longer considered the only ranking factor.
Suppose you provide online insurance services. It is natural that you will have competitors. Those who will write and search for insurance services online will take the service from the links on the first page. not so Assuming your link is placed on the first page but way down. People above you have worked with the same keywords. So why did they rank above you?
The answer is – On-Page-SEO
Optimizing content for SEO
You may have understood how on-page SEO affects search rankings. Now we will know how to optimize content to get ranking in search. In this chapter I will try to give an idea of how to do keyword optimization for your web post or page.
The first is to use targeted keywords
The keyword you are writing the article with must be placed once in the beginning of the article between 100 and 150 words. If your keywords are not in the first paragraph then the search engines will not easily understand what your article is about.
If you take a look at this poster of mine, you will see that I have written an article targeting the keyword “On Page SEO” and put the keyword in the first 100 words. Why is it so important? When the keyword is at the beginning of the article, Google will give it more importance.
Imagine, you published an article about digital marketing. If your article is really about digital marketing, then it would be wise if you write the word digital marketing in the middle of the article. Of course not. So put the keyword anywhere in the first 100 words of the article. By doing this, Google can easily understand what topic is discussed in the article.
Using H1 tags in post titles
H1 tag is a short title. Google understands the H1 tag and understands the structure of the page easily. Popular blogging platforms (ie: WordPress and Blogger) – have post title H1 tags. If there is then you don’t need to do anything. But that is not the case in all cases. In that case you need to check the code of the site. And also check whether the keyword is inside the H1 tag.
Subheading (H2 Tag)
Put your keyword at least once in the subheading (H2 tag) and use the H2 tag for the subheading. Many people think that H2 tag on page can not bring much benefit for SEO. But believe me, from my years of experience, putting keywords inside the H2 tag works like magic. Much like fishing with a fishing rod.
SEO content writing
Those of us who publish articles have only one wish, that the post should be ranked number one in Google. But it is also necessary to think whether the post is SEO friendly. It is foolish to think that just by writing articles, the ranking will be done. Because Google search algorithm is much smarter and complex. So there are three things to keep in mind when writing SEO content:
- Unique content
- Valuable content
- People will do a search to find out what they are aiming for
In this chapter we will learn how to write SEO content using the above three points.
Unique content
I said earlier that unique content is preferred by Google. And it is of particular importance to the users. Many people think that duplicate content is also ranked. yes I also agree. But if you want to maintain rank then unique content is no substitute. Unique and evergreen content can easily get backlinks. It also works well for search rankings. Find a topic that no one else has covered before, or if you have, find out what topics have been left out of the discussion and you can write about that topic.
Many people think that if you use keywords more, you can come to the top of the search. On-page keywords are certainly important for SEO, but they are not the only ranking factor. Only unique content can rank even using less keywords.
Valuable content
Think for a moment, is your post really valuable to the people you are writing content for? There are millions plus of blog posts everyday. So understand that to survive in so much content, your content must be super valuable. Your content can be valuable if you blog posts with a few things in mind.
Keyword Research: First determine the demand for your keyword. Avoid low value keywords. That is, do keyword research before writing a post.
Details: Content value increases the more easily and fluently you present the content to the visitors. Use images, screenshots, infographics, videos, etc. to make your content interesting.
Examples and Case Studies: You can add examples and case studies to your blog posts if you have the opportunity. For example, if you have a real example related to the topic you are writing about or if you can add the findings of your research on a topic to the post, then the content value will increase.
Adding new subdates: Evergreen content has high visitor attraction. So if a new update comes in your old post then its importance to the visitors increases a lot.
Information about the poster: Many people write content where they have no experience. Content written on topics you know about is more likely to be accepted. So must give small information about the person who is writing the content.
This way you can make your blog post valuable and interesting to the visitors. Remember, good content boosts a site’s rank. Good content means more shares, more backlinks.
Number of keywords
How often you write keywords in the article is important. Many of you have heard the term Keyword Frequency. This means how many times the keyword has been mentioned in the article. There is actually debate about exactly how many times a keyword can be used. Google doesn’t want to accept that if the same keyword is used more than once, it will get rank in the search. But SEO experts believe that using keywords multiple times will result in better rankings. What if the matter can be thought of differently?
Suppose you have a post, Google thinks the post is written with a specific keyword. However, you only used the keyword once. But how can you be sure that the post is written with such keywords? Comment the answer. On the other hand, if the keyword is mentioned many times (eg 10 times) in the post then Google can be more certain. And understand that the post is really written with such keywords.
It is good to say here, many people may think that if you use more keywords, it may become keyword stuffing. In fact, naturally, if you use a keyword several times, it is not keyword stuffing. Many people write posts in such a way that there is no relevance to the topic with the keywords. The fact is that you can use keywords more than once. But excess is never good.
External (Outbound) link
External links help Google understand the topic you’re writing about. Google also understands that your webpage is a hub of quality information. The survey was done on 10 new sites by Robot Online. Half of the sites are given links to authority sites and the other half of the sites are not given any external (outbound) links. Those who gave externals were ranked first in the search.
Optimizing URLs
URL is the link to the site page or post. Earlier URLs were not given much importance for SEO. But nowadays URL Structure is seen as a tonic as a ranking factor.
Create SEO Friendly URL
Just keep two things in mind-
- URLs must be kept short.
- Put keywords in the URL
Not so easy. You can add additional words to the keyword if you want.
Title and description tags
In this chapter we will know how to optimize title and description tags for SEO. Google said in a tweet that “Title is a good ranking factor” Similarly, description tells search engines and visitors what the content of the post is. So, if you want to know title and description tag optimization techniques then this chapter is for you.
Use of keywords at the beginning of the title
Title tags play an important role for on-page SEO. Search engines can understand what topic you wrote the article by looking at the title tag. From my experience, if the keyword is given at the beginning of the title, the importance of the post in the search engine increases. You must have heard the name of long tai keyword. Two or more keywords are called long tail keywords. If you add some words to the targeted keywords that can be converted into long tail keywords then you get more organic traffic.
Use of questions in title tags
Have you ever wondered? Why are you not getting more traffic after being at the top of the ranking? This is because your title is not catchy. So CTR is low. One study found that post titles that used question marks had higher CTRs than others.
Checking the meta description
The main reason for low CTR can be that you forgot to provide meta description or did not include keywords. Chapter 1 has mentioned about this. If your meta description is not attractive, clicks on it will naturally decrease. So my advice would be to audit your site and find the missing meta description and add the meta description.
Page speed
Does page speed affect SEO? yes If the page takes a long time to load, the traffic quickly leaves the site and visits the next result link. If it is high then your ranked post will slowly lose rank. You can visit gtmetrix site to boost page speed.
Image optimization
As mentioned earlier, image is a ranking factor for SEO. So images should be SEO friendly. Make sure to use the title tag and ALT tag in the image. Add keywords to image title tags if possible. You can convert images in png, jpg format to WEBP. I upload images in WEBP format in my post. This can be done very easily online. You can visit this link to convert WEBP.
