Image SEO
When a search engine starts indexing a website/blog, it doesn’t just look at the content of the blog to determine the search ranking. Along with searching the blog article, other attachments including pictures and videos of the post are also searched.
Search engine web crawlers, especially crawlers from Google, Yahoo and Bing, look at the content of the blog as well as the structural aspects of the blog, and even the location of the blog. In this case, if you can properly optimize the image used in your blog post, the possibility of getting more visitors from search engines is created.
Blog Post Image SEO
Image is an important part of blog, especially in posts. Using Image in blog posts can give readers a clear idea about any topic. There are some posts in which the readers cannot be given any idea about the post if they do not use Image. The search engine also brings all the images of your blog separately to the search engine.
Generally you will see on all devices that there is a tab called Image in the tab list of Google-Search search results. Many images of the desired subject are available by clicking there. If you share the image of the blog in a search engine friendly way, then there is a possibility of getting a lot of visitors from that image.
See in the image above, when I type “BlogSpot SEO” in the Google search engine, the first image that shows is an Image of my blog post. I have a post on “BlogSpot SEO” on my blog. Which is why my post is ranking in Google Image Search for that keyword due to optimizing the image properly. Due to accurate Image Optimization, my post can grow a lot of traffic from Google Image Search.
How to do Image Optimization?
Image optimization of blog posts is a very simple task. In fact we avoid them because we do not understand the importance of this matter. However, Google search engine itself advises to use Image in the post in accordance with the blog. You can do image optimization of the blog by following some simple steps below.
1. Choosing the right image:
Most bloggers collect images from other blogs or Google image search and use them for their blogs. As a result, the image is easily recognized by Google as a copyright, so the image cannot rank in Google Image Search. If you know the work of graphics, always try to use your own image in the blog.
Then your image can easily rank in Google Image Search. However, if you don’t know graphic design, you can collect images from various free image sharing sites online and use them on the blog. Among the free image sharing sites online, Pixabay is the most popular. If you want, you can collect your required Image from there and use it on the blog.
Still, if you can’t collect the image through any of the above methods, download the image from Google search and try to use it in the blog by making partial changes through Photoshop. Then Google search engine will not be able to copyright your image easily.
2. Related Image Usage:
Use images that are relevant to the type of article you are writing the blog post about, and use images that are descriptive of the content of the post. Suppose – you are writing a post about YouTube SEO, in this case share the image in the post in harmony with this topic to understand about YouTube SEO. The subject of the post is one type and the Image is another type, so that this should not happen.
3. Optimize Image Size (MB):
You will try to keep Image size (MB) as small as possible. Because large size images are difficult for search engines to crawl. Also, the smaller or smaller the size and image size of your blog post, the faster the blog will load. For this you can optimize the size and quality of the image with the help of Photoshop. Always try to upload small and crisp images.
How to reduce Image size (MB)?
You can easily reduce Image Size (MB) by using various online and offline software. The method I am going to share with you is very simple and effective. I always follow this method to reduce Image size (MB) of my blog and use it in blogs. To do this, first use Photoshop and then TinyPng online tools.
4. Correct Image Name Usage:
Before uploading the image that you will use for your blog, you must write the name of the image in accordance with the subject of the post and the subject of the image. Most of the bloggers use Meaningless name of type (abcd.png or 1..2..3 etc.) without giving any meaningful name to the image.
This type of Image Name has a very bad effect on image optimization. In the case of naming your desired Image, you must write the Image Name in accordance with the subject of the post or Image. In writing Image Name, use a Short Hyphen (-) after every word with Small Letter.
5. Adding Alt Tags:
Visitors like Screen Shoot i.e. Image but search engines don’t like it much. Because the search engine cannot read the image while crawling the site, that is, it cannot understand what you mean by that image, unless you optimize the image properly. To solve this problem you can optimize images by using Alt Tags & File Names correctly.
For example – you are writing an paragraph or script about your pet cat ‘Mimi’. Then you must upload a picture of this cat. Once uploaded, search engines will not know that this is a picture of your pet cat ‘Mimi’. For this, after uploading the image, you will write in the Alt tag of the image that this is the image of your post cat ‘Mimi’.
How to Add Alt Tags?
After uploading the image, click on the image and you will see the option called Properties. If you click here, you will see a cell called Alt text, write your desired subject in brief. If you want to optimize the images of the blog post more, you can add Caption to the image. This will help both readers and search engines understand what you mean by this image. Most bloggers don’t like to add it. But adding it is fine, but not doing it is fine.
Conclusion:
All in all, if you apply the above five Image Optimization topics correctly to your blog, then surely your blog image will be easily understood and read by search engines. In particular, you must use the Alt tag on all images in your blog posts. I can say with certainty that this will result in all your images appearing in the image tab of Google search. So you can understand that coming to Google search means increasing visitors.
